Abstract:
The workshop is divided into two sections. First section consists of one presentation on general issues on Wireless LAN security like its threats and common vulnerabilities. Second section is a hands-on workshop that is intended to introduce basic wireless security auditing techniques. Wireless LAN security auditing techniques are important skills for every wireless users especially for wireless administrators. This hands-on section will include usage of tools such as Kismet, Wireshark, KNSGEM and Google Earth. Participants will be taught on Kismet auditing features and also on Wireshark analyzing features for wireless traffics. Skills learnt will be beneficial for the participants in ensuring their wireless network security through auditing. All participants are expected to bring their own notebooks.

Equipment:
Notebook PCs will be provided on a shared basis.Anyhow participants are encouraged to bring their own notebook. They will be given a CD that contains all necessary tools for the hands-on sessions.
