
Membership of the Gabungan consists of six categories. A fellowship may be awarded at the discretion of the Council of the Gabungan to any Member for the outstanding work in the field of Information Technology. Membership for other categories is based on qualifications and relevant experience.

| Member | Shall be a person who holds a recognised academic degree or professional qualification acceptable to the Council and who has been employed in the Information Technology Industry at an executive level for not less than five years, or a person who do not hold a recognised academic degree or professional qualification but has been employed in the Information Technology Industry at an executive level for not less than ten years in activities considered by the Council to be relevant to the objects of the Gabungan. | 50 | 60 |
| Associate | Shall be a person who do not qualify to be a Member but who holds a recognised academic degree or professional qualification acceptable to the Council and who has ben employed in the Information TechnologyIndustry at an executive level for not less than two years, or a personwho do not hold a recognised degree or professional qualification but has been employed in the Information Technology Industry at an executive level for not less than seven years in activities considered by the Council to be relevant to the objects of the Gabungan. | 50 | 40 |
| Provisional Associate | Shall be a person who do not qualify to be an Associate but who has been employed in the Information Technology Industry at an executive or supervisory level in activities considered by the Council to be relevant to the objects of the Gabungan. | 50 | 30 |

| Student | Shall be a person who is a full time student or a person undergoing a course of Instruction leading to a professional qualification acceptable to the Council and who is not over 25 years of age. | 10 | 20 |
The Gabungan has reciprocal membership arrangements with the Australian Computer Society, The British Computer Society and The Singapore Computer Society.
This means that if you are a MNCC member and if you apply to be a member of the ACS, BCS or SCS respectively and if admitted, you are entiltled to a 20% discount on the annual subscriptions of the stated bodies. It works the other way too (e.g. ACS members becoming MNCC members).
