Mr. SoonKheng Khor’s Profile

Mr. SoonKheng Khor, has more than fourteen years of software and mission-critical systems deployment experience. He has extensive
knowledge and hands-on experience in managing complex Information Technology Projects.

During the last seven years, he has held various responsibilities in a few International Airport Projects. This includes the
positions of Senior Pre-sales consultant, Interface and Integration Management, Testing and Integration, Chief Engineer and Project
Management.  Projects were for Kuala Lumpur International Airport (Malaysia, 1995-1998), Inchon International Airport (Korea 1998,
2000) and the newly-opened Shanghai Pudong International Airport (China 1998 -- 2001). Prior to these, he was involved in systems
development work in Oracle Corporation Europe and USA. He was also a founder member of Design Migration Services for Oracle
Asia-Pacific.

He is currently engaged as the Principal IT Airport Specialist with The MITRE Corporation, USA ( www.mitre.org)  and as System
Architect for a major Government of Malaysia I.T project. He is also currently involved in a few large-scale system integration
projects in planning and specification development and bidding support consultancy works.

He holds an Honours degree in Computer Science from University of Dublin, Trinity College, Ireland. He is also a member of
International Computer Software Engineering ( INCOSE), Project Management Institute (PMI) and IEEE Computer Society.


Presentation Abstract

Lessons Learned: Managing Complex Information Technology Projects in China

Mr. Khor has recently completed his 3 years  project assignment in Shanghai Pudong International Airport, China. In this
presentation, he will share with you some of his personal lessons learned during this assignment as Interface and Integration
Management Specialist, Testing and Quality Control Manager, Chief Engineer. His last position there was Project Director who had
overall Project Management responsibility including Final Acceptance of the Integrated System and closure of the System Integrator
contract.
