Dear Dr Na & others,

Sin Chew Cyberworld and Sinchew-i has plotted a one year course for OSS 
exposure to the Chinese-spoken Community, i.e. approx. 45~50 issues in year 
2003.

One of the main concern is local OSS development in which I have pointed out 
to Editorial to follow up with MNCC OSSIG and PIKOM OSSIG. 

Since our intended target is end users, including individual and SME/SMI 
businesses, perhaps MNCC and PIKOM OSSIG guys can help us to refind our rough 
plan below:

Purpose: To spread OSS influence thru our media channels, and to assist the 
Chinese-spoken community at large exploring the alternatives, helping them to 
decide what's best for them, both at work and at home.

The Plan:

1. Introduction of OS Software, eg. Open Office, Apache, Evolution, GIMP, 
etc.etc.

2. Progress of local OSS development, sources from MNCC and PIKOM OSSIGs, as 
well as Public Sector's involvement in OSS;

3. Interviews, local players, multinational players, etc.etc.etc.;

4. Daily updates aggregating OSS related content from all over the world 
(online only), the proposed Sinchew-i OSS site is bilingual, English and 
Chinese, materials will not be translated unless it is significant. We are 
also planning to exchange our content with other OSS sites around the world;

5. Availability of specific OS applications to assist SMI/SMEs;

6. Events, Talks, and Seminars, to be organized by Sinchew-i and Sin Chew 
Cyberworld, with assistance from various interested parties, including but 
not limited to PIKOM, MNCC OSSIGs, etc.etc.

>>We can arrange talks/seminars/events to be held in our hall in PJ., subject 
to availability of the said facilities

7. Contests and games.

>> chance to win prizes from sponsors by knowing more about Open Source.
