yeah, we all have to learn to ignore the GHz arms race Intel is playing with AMD
Clock speed is the MIPS monster of old raising its head again

XFree86 4.2 compiles very nicely from source...now if only someone will port the newly 
released NVIDIA freebsd drivers :)
I believe the BSD community is doing a lot to make everything work on OSX
