I'm thoroughly enjoying this thread although participation is getting a bit thin :)
Actually I do think that this thread has a lot to do with OSS
I would hazard to generalise (yet again :) that most people interested in OSS
enough to join this list has learnt to analyse....am I wrong ?
Otherwise you would be happy as a clam in windows and would never have
struggled to make your first few faltering steps into the OSS world.
BTW I think the Japanese (especially), Koreans and Taiwanese have more or
less shed much of their copycat thinking and are really started to innovate. See
how much OSS work comes from Japan...they lead the world in IPv6
development.
