Re: [ossig] Linux too much like Windows :)

I beg to differ. Both copies the idea of this particular aqua-like theme, rounded curve from an obscure operating system known as OS X perhaps you heard of it. It is made by this company that sell a type of fruit.

Sorry, just can't help it. ( Don't take it as an offense, it is just a joke).

Seriously though, I don find them to have much, very much in the form os OSX in terms of theme. Besides, this is only comparing to Redhat and like of Lycoris. Take Mandrake for example, I still find it rather "Linux" like. And besides, with some distribution, you don't really need to use KDE or Gnome if you really don't want to. I been using Blackbox on my linux and BSD box for sometime and never really bother to used other windows manager that slow to start and take out so much space. After all, all I need is to browse the web, work on some document do some stuff over the company application ( which is web app in most cases).

Linux is about choice, I am sure Redhat et al try to imitate windows and OS X to ease the switching experience. But quite frankly, as a seasoned user, you don't really have to use it if you don't want to.

In it he talks about how Linux and Windows XP are getting to look
similar.

Just a rant... But interesting nonetheless. Anyone given RedHat 8.0 a
try, will find that its *very* similar to what Windows is. Oh well...
