Today the open source group of MIMOS
launched a regional centre in open source, named

The Asian Open Source Centre

The aim of the centre is to network open source
related parties in Asia - not just programmers,
but also policy makers and other interested parties.

The URL is http://www.asiaosc.org

The look and feel may need to be improved in
coming weeks, but we hope that the
community will already find useful
content.  We hope people may
be interested in helping us build a valuable
'knowledgebase' and active message boards.

The technical amongst you may be happy to know
that the entire site runs on open source :
Postnuke / MySQL / PHP / Linux / 'Wikipedia', with
firewalling courtesy of OpenBSD, with content
created in OpenOffice / Mozilla / the Gimp,
and backups using rsync and openssh.
