KENOIR EMBEDDED SYSTEMS Centre is conducting an Embedded Linux Workshop
in Kuala Lumpur in May End 2003
Attention: : Government Organizations, Microelectronics companies,
Automation clients, General embedded systems and Firmware clients.
Creating a customized Linux for an embedded system is an effort that
takes time, detailed knowledge of OS infrastructure and experience with
kernel configuration.
Using open-source software in product development has certain important
implications, not the least of which is the fact that there is a
learning curve associated with it. Also, embedded Linux is the
distillation of many talented programmers who may have different
perspectives. This course aims to provide participants with detailed
knowledge of embedded Linux from hardware and software perspectives. It
presents hands-on training for customizing a version of Linux for an
embedded system. The application development environment and toolkits
are described. There is also a special topics section to provide the
foundation and linkage to more advanced and specialized courses in
embedded Linux.
About Kenoir Embedded Systems Centre
This module is part of a programme in embedded system design that is
offered by the Kenoir Centre in the Asia-Pacific countries. The Centre
is committed to sustaining a vigorous academic and practice-oriented
environment that values quality and diversity in the training
experience.
Programme strengths include engineering design experience; integration
of hardware/software issues, use of contemporary engineering design and
modeling tools throughout the curriculum; and advanced engineering
design options in hardware, software and communications.
With an emphasis on computers as components, and information
technologies in internet appliances, the program provides participants
with the background, knowledge, skills and hands-on experience needed to
enter the practice of embedded systems design in such industries as
multimedia, consumer products, wireless / mobile, defence and
manufacturing. Graduates are also prepared for continual learning and
professional development.
