Re: [ossig] RED HAT 9
This one is wrong, sorry to say. I'm too lazy to sort out the RedHat
website explaining this. Essentially, we have it to do with
Fraunhofer-Institut (München - see the Umlaut - = Munich) being the
so-called holder of the Intellectual Property of the underlying
concepts. And they started to charge for the coders (I think) one day
and they pondered to do so for decoders.
To me the move of RedHat is laudable. It shows their respect for true
Open and Free Software; despite a hate campaign against them for
dropping MP3-support for XMMS, Xine, etc.
