Re: [ossig] Network monitoring?
Demarc is proprietary software, although the Perl is visible.
I had a few problems with them a while ago, when I started
posting discussions of possible patches on their public mailing lists
last year. They asked me to stop - they want to control
all code development.

yusmar's been playing around with nagios, at www.nagios.org natch.
Demarc (www.demarc.com) is prettier and consumer grade but Nagios suits
very well for those who wish to include his/her own codes/modules and make
Nagios do more than what it's packaged to do.
There already works to simplify configuration editing tools and add themes
functionality to Nagios.
