[ossig] not open source - but finally personal domain names in .my
Finally personal domain names will arrive in Malaysia in
July 2003. I hope I can get imran@me.my :)
Consultation document about personal domain names
in Malaysia has just been announced. So, read the
doc, tell MYNIC what you think.
http://www.mynic.net.my/newhp/announcements/mynic-26may03.htm
Key points:
No final decision on whether it's
.name.my
.nama.my
.me.my
etc
(there's a poll at
http://www.mynic.net.my/newhp/announcements/mynic-26may03.htm )
RM40 per year per name.
Nicknames etc are allowed.
You may get a free email address with it (not clear what is provided).
You can have up to 8 PDNs.
Foreigners can apply if they are resident in .my
Must show id to get.
No '.' in the name (this bit seems bad to me).
Obvious things : no datuk, religious or politically sensitive names.
