No offence, but a student will still find it rather tight-budgeted to
pay RM299, and get RM20 worth of free CDs.

Uni's come with fast lines, and CD-burners. If they were OSS-inclined,
they'd find out how to (ab)use it :)
that reminds me of the good old time me fighting with the Uni admin to download Mandrake :)

If anything, here's a suggestion: get the uni/college to sponsor several
students to go. Well, interested ones at least.
students can also team up to buy the CDs together. imagine that? :)

Here, the uni sponsored 6 students to go for a security conference in
Sydney (we only payed for our flight tickets). I'm sure they'd do the
same in Malaysia if asked nicely.
they can. but some malaysian students will sit and wait for Uni to invite them. sorry to say that, but that was what i observed last time.
