Re: [ossig] University curriculum for OSS?
In the early days of UNIX, schools can't afford to pay expensive license for
software and OS. and AT&T was practically giving away the source code fora
few penny. Universities make student port unix to PDP as a project. I can
immagine the same thing for linux and FreeBSD on other plantform, perhaps
asking students to brind anything resemble a computing device of their
choosing and ask them to port netBSD to their playstation.
It doesn't have to be an OS though. Stuff like Videolan, X are very
interesting and they are all started out and university projects.
