the majority of the job market want well trained product grads, no? tell
them you have used gcc instead of Microsoft Visual C++ and they frown,
no?
unless we get lucky and an open source employer is around...

this is something i agree with. reading what you sign (or click
ok/accept to) is something that has become very important. understanding
the different usage of licensing words has become rather important.
and the snipped ideas below...are all interesting.
(but then again, i'm a FLOSS geek.)
