dear Friends In the ICT Group
A lot of times it is the basics that helps us
I hear what our friends talk of monitoring , control, process etc
But lets ask when these requirements stem from?
More often then not it is from a simple desire to do a good, be competative and accountable.
All the rest are tools that help u acheive the goal above. The minute there is reluctance to ACHEIVE , then shoddiness steps in YES i
include GREED as also a Shoddiness as any good business knows u need to upkeep your quality for a RETURN busineess
So it is not about Smart School, or Computer Labs OR even more complicated projects like KLIA or twin tower. Even though all these
projects have their complexity and tech requirement, if you get a bunch of LOWLY MOTIVATED PERSONS at the end of the day we do not
have the RESULTS we want. JM Collins in his book called "Built to Last " and "Good to Great" clearly outlines with hard data that it
is people who make the difference ie their inner quality.
SO, the challenge i pose (and face everyday) what is the motivation for US to do a good job. Once we get this , then it is easy as
every responsible , intelligent individual goes about doing the right thing, in the most effective manner with continous imporvement.
Three C's are needed Credibility, Creativity, Consistency BUT take Credibility away from the equiation what we have is a DANGEROUS
Individual.
