i think os is good as teaching vehicles to demonstrate
fundamental concept in cs, also good candidate for final
year research projects,
provided that the lecturers know how to map the concepts to
the specific components in os.
perhaps we shld find ways to encourage the lectures to participate in
os related activities, one of the areas that OSSIG can contribute to.
and hopefully, like Uwe, lecturers can come out with useful OS related
projects for the final year or post-grad students.
i'm sure the students r willing to learn if the lecturers can provide the
leadership.
