[ossig] The Glider: Proposal for a Hacker Emblem

Here's a proposal by ESR:

I think it's pretty cool and I gree with him. In fact,
I always thought that we in the community need a
single sorta logo that covers OSS and FS, Linux and
BSD, MySQL and Postgres, perl and python. We all have
our own 'favoured' tribal mascots but none which shows
the bigger reality - that we are a part of a larger
(related / interdependent) group.

It doesn't take much to support this. While I don't
agree with all of ESR's principles I have to admit
that he's been a very capable champion of our movement
so far.

I say we adopt the emblem for 'our own' when we do
seminars, short courses, roadshows, on our websites
and so on.

(OK, OK, I admit, the concept behind the glider _does_
appeal to the geek in me and it's not all about
showing a unified front - but hey, I think that's part
of the charm of the emblem, no?)
