No need to flagellate yourself. Take a later version; the install script has
got better by the version. Had an install session with some of my students
using Nov-03 version and went through pretty well !

Oh yes, last time i checked, latest Woody is 3.0re2 which was
released into the wild at Nov 2003, not exactly 2 yrs old, aint it?

Are you a student ? I like students who challenge the lecturer ! My answer
would be: please, if you so think, treat yourself to that learning
experience and try it out. Living is learning.
Otherwise I might point out that re2 is 3.0 with a lot of security updates.

Are you really after Gnome 1.4 and KDE 2.2 ? Then, by all means, go ahead
with 3.0r2 !
