MNCC-OSCC Evening Talk on /_27 May 2004_/ at KMDC (Plaza Sentral)* *
Want to know the latest hacks in Linux kernel 2.6?*
Linux kernel development is proceeding at a pace faster than ever; the
recently released 2.6 kernel version has a number of features which
programmers should be aware of. Improvements from vendors like IBM and
the broader community offer scalability and performance improvements on
all scales from embedded devices through the desktop all the way to
high-end servers.
Come and join the MNCC-Open Source Compatibility Center (OSCC) Evening
Talk on Linux Kernel 2.6 Development Updates. Address your questions to
the speaker, *Mr. Rusty Russell *from IBM Linux Technology Center.
This evening talk will be held at:
*Date :* 27 May 2004
*Time:* 6.30 - 8.30 pm
*Venue:* KMDC, KL Sentral
*Speaker:* Rusty Russll
*Admission:* Free ( limited seats available)
*About the Speaker*
Rusty Russell is a Linux kernel hacker living in Australia, working for
IBM's Linux Technology Center whose mission is to "Make Linux Better"..
He's also a frequent and talented speaker at Linux gatherings. When
talking about Rusty in an earlier interview, Andrew Morton summarized,
"he's just a really sharp and witty guy - anyone who has attended one of
his sessions at a conference will attest to that!"
Well known for his packet filtering efforts, having written both
ipchains and netfilter/iptables, he has continued to make an impressive
number of contributions to Linux kernel development. A large sampling of
his current projects have been merged into the 2.6 kernel, including
futexes, per-cpu counters, hot pluggable CPU support, and a complete
rewrite of the in-kernel module loader. His team’s key focus area is
Linux for the PowerPC processor.
