i'll second this. when we (worldcare) bought over the IP rights to our
telemedicine software, it was a real bummer looking for VBv5 IDE/compiler
to get to use it. microsoft had phased out VB5, and the then current
version of VB (7 iianm) refused to read the files and generally bitched
about it. microsoft itself could not help. in the end, low yat did help. i
found a installer disk with VB5 and we promptly ported the code over to
ANSI C. the only bits we wanted were an interface to a closed
source/patented compression engine, whose IP we didnt own.
