i've read the postings there and my only comment is most of the folk there
are actually quite clueless about business models and running a business.
one of them even made the statement that, "When I was doing SAS, I do
projects that no OSS or MS have a place in (or even come close to
smelling). The business of selling software has always been the business
of selling software. Intellectual Property for money.". r
rubbish. tell that to ibm who've now turned around ibm global services to
contribute to over 45% of ibm's global revenue, most of that as a result
of their adoption of linux as the unifying os across their hardware
product line.
