[ossig] How do I prevent a screen from going blank ?

Another technical one here.
I simply want to stop the screen from going blank after some time of 
inactivity of mouse / keyboard.

With terminals (no X) the machine stays 'awake'; but when starting X, 
they do (go blank after some time).
And I want them staring around, even without any activity.

Any hint appreciated,
