The web site was 2+ years old when they said "almost boots to single 
user" :)
Got to the web site now, updated about a week ago with the last 2 years 
development

A Summary for those interested (I got these from the FreeBSD PPC 
mailing list - which is seeing increased activity):

It now boots to multiuser on new world macs (web site will eventually 
be updated with the details)
you can even build X, Apache and many other things for it and make 
world also works
some models have specific problems... device support issues
it is not stable enough for release yet but is getting there ... 
primarily some kernel panics under load
and they are looking into making it boot on PEARPC ! hehe

bottom line is ... they are getting there...I'm hoping for a release 
later this year....stress hoping
