[ossig] disabling characters on the keyboard

Greetings ppl,

Is there a way to disable certain characters (i.e. the letter 'z') on the
keyboard (don't ask me why :-). This particular machine is currently
running Linux with X and KDE. I found many guides to remap the keyboard
etc but they aren't useful in this context.
