Slower if you're talking about sarge or woody perhaps, but sid's
pretty quick. Was the first distro where I could get KDE 3.2 when it
first came out (I wasn't tracking RH/Fedora rawhide at the time) and
other packages are relatively quick. Depends on the maintainer though.
Zope/plone on debian was struggling last time I checked.
One thing that's really hard to match Debian for is the sheer number
of packages. I've found an incredible amount of software available via
apt-get, more than any other distribution I've ever seen.
