In the local context I think this is a pertinent question to tackle here  
as the govt tries to push out OSS desktops based on Linux.  From what I 
know of their plans, it appears that currently they do not recommend a 
specific distro so it may end up with different departments and/or 
agencies using different distros (I may be wrong here, if so someone pls 
correct me).  This lack of standardisation while giving each dept/agency 
freedom to choose what suits them best may give rise to support and other 
possible compatibility issues.
