That's RPM thrashing the ThinkPad - 128MB of RAM, if you have more than
say 2-3 kernels in /boot, it's gonna thrash nicely during a kernel
update

I wish there was more documentation, but there isn't at the moment! Its
just a lot of code... But yes, it should speed things up when FC3 is
out, up2date is already ready to work with it
Works mainly by extracting the metadata out of the packages and keeping
them in a few files. All XML, and gzip'ed mostly too. Its a lot smaller
than the .hdr files thats currently being used, and is a definite move
forward
When this is more "ready" and more mainline, definitely more docs will
be created; but that's low priority now
