If planned well, we don't need a mall, just an easily accessible place
(since most floss geeks lack non-public transport :P)

And yes, it will cost a lot of money. This is where good sponsorship
comes into play, or even good/interested management. Because there's no
way we can recoup location costs from just the sale of CD media...

How's Amcorp Mall doing? Its easily accessible (taxi, lrt, car), has
plenty of parking, was relatively emptyish the last time I looked. If
advertised about 4 weeks before, with a 2 week before reminder
advertisment, I'm pretty sure it can be pulled off with folk coming to
Amcorp w/o issue; and hold an installfest (and free intro to open
source) for 2 days

Though the time for advocacy is really over - we have to deliver. Are we
going to just talk about it occasionally on mailing lists and get
spurred by a meet or two, or is this going to be an ongoing thing?
Malaysia with all its development really lacks a proper LUG, which is
sad (our brothers and sisters just a little over the causeway have had a
successful lug for years!)
