POSITION: Project Leader

TERMS: Full-time / Contract

START DATE: Immediate

REMUNERATION: Negotiable


ABOUT THE POSITION:
The Project Leader will manage the daily operations of a mobile content
application service, with a large user base. He/she will be expected to
manage daily updates, online marketing initiatives and web development
initiatives for new features/enhancements. The Project Leader will also have
to manage a team of specialists to ensure that the service adheres to the
targeted service levels and content moderation expectations.

This position requires someone who is able to liaise with web/graphic
designers and copywriters to manage the online presence of the service. A
keen eye for look & feel, and online presentation techniques is required. In
addition, the candidate is expected to be able to manage web/mobile
technical development initiatives involving external development teams.

The candidate we are looking for should be able to work on his/her own
without any direct supervision. This position requires the need for a
"startup mentality", i.e. do whatever it takes to get the job done.

GENERAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Internet-savvy
- a seasoned web & email user
- familiar with instant messaging: Yahoo / Skype
- have a mobile phone; familiar with SMS, MMS & GPRS
- familiarity with camera phones would be an added advantage
- language: must have excellent English writing & oral communication skills
- language: Bahasa Malaysia & Mandarin would be added advantages
- familiarity with Internet forums and blogging would be an added advantage
- interests in the Internet/mobile industry would be a plus point
- ability to multitask, excellent judgment, problem solving & analytical
abilities
- must be prepared to work long hours, even weekends and public holidays if
necessary
- must be prepared to accept new responsibilities as and when necessary


SKILL-SET REQUIREMENTS:
- knowledge of HTML, CSS & front-end development techniques
- Linux-Apache-MySQL-PHP (LAMP) development experience
- ability to do hands-on frontend/backend development would be preferred
- ability to do ad-hoc copywriting would be a major plus-point
- knowledge of the latest online marketing techniques
- knowledge & understanding of the local mobile phone industry.
Understanding of SMS/MMS/GPRS is crucial
- ability to tap on to your network of contacts to outsource
frontend/backend initiatives would be an added advantage


EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
- real-world frontend/backend web development project experience is crucial,
either in the capacity as a project leader or team member
- fresh grads with non-commercial project experience will be considered
