Re: [ossig] how true is this?
Looks like MS and their resellers are milking
this 'case-study' to the max.
Just today Ive received a direct reference from an MS employee,
and the other from a reseller.
Here's the resellers email:

Here's what we have all been waiting for, the first Linux win-back
customer case study. Look at what the customer had to say!
"Linux was giving us more than we bargained for – difficulties, that
is. We were surprised to discover the total cost of ownership for the
Linux solution was almost double that of Windows Small Business Server
2003."
T.H. Thong, Managing Director, Peng Hong Hardware Sdn Bhd
Business Situation
In 2003, when Peng Hong Hardware decided to upgrade its IT
infrastructure, it opted to migrate to the Linux platform from Windows
because it was attracted to idea of free Open Source software. But the
decision turned out to be a costly one.
Solution
After 10 months running on Red Hat Linux and encountering a slew of
problems, the company decided to switch to Windows Small Business
Server 2003.
Benefits
TCO Reduced by 50 per cent
User friendly and reliable platform
Better security than Linux
Integrated functionalities

Here's what we've been waiting for indeed!
BTW, Besides this, and the ski-resort case study,
are there anymore linux to windows migration reports?
Do I see a general pattern that these 'win-backs' are due
to poor implementation and planning?
Why are the budgets so low?
Is RM500 per month substantial savings?
Does Windows beat Linux on simple niche servers (on setup price)?
Why is indemnification important?
yk.
