If the quality of local & foreign Linux magazine are
almost the same. I will choose to buy the local one.
Price is a factor. But local content is a more
appealing selling point. I read the Linux magazine
from Hong Kong because I want to keep track the Open
Source trend in Hong Kong, China & Taiwan. I may not
be able to do business there soon (wonder any
businessman nowadays will ignore China market??), but
at least I was updated with the changes, the
government's policy, the acceptance of OSS among
business & household, the OSS pratitioner quality, how
common is the OSS education, etc... all about
trends... I will pay month after month to know about
these trends... people learn from history, their
history is our current situation, if we can duplicate
other people's history into our current situation, we
will make some business.
As a Malaysian, if I like to hear news from China,
then, does a Singaporean or Thai interested in
knowing/ updated with the trends in Malaysia before
they want to commit some OSS business here??

Due to *historical* reasons & short in funds, the
Chinese Independent Schools in Malaysia are pioneering
the wide usage of OSS in their schools.
