In addition to that, I really need also quotes and examples of
FOSS/FLOSS use by Malaysian businesses.
eg.
Chris DeMarco from MyDirectory states that, "Like others concerned about
recent actions by the BSA and the police, our company has moved most our
software to using free and open source software". He further states that
almost all their staff are now using Fedora on the desktop and using the
OpenOffice productivity suite. "We have not only saved on costs, but are
also now able to make better use of more software without licensing
restrictions of proprietary software"
Enforcement actions by government has also benefited local software
developers and open source service providers such as Asix. Ditesh CIO of
Asix states that with greater concern over costs and licensing issues,
more and more clients are asking their company to provide services to
migrate their server software such as file servers over to free and open
source softare.
... security..
IOSN APDIP says that there is a lot of confusion regarding licensing and
trademarks of open source software... It should be clear that users are
safe from... MS stuff regarding liablity is FUD ...
If you're interested in helping out in the way above for this press
release, please send me an email to khairil@apdip.net as well as a phone
number so I can contact you.
Thanks
