there have been a number of complaints / articles saying that the
universities do not produce graduates with the skill that the industry
requires. also r&d work tend to be 'islands' of study.
had a chat with someone, who did a deeper look into the problem.
according to her part of the problem is that the industry , esp ict,
itself is not telling what they require (trade secrets etc), only what
they want to sell.
a very good example is ubs acct which gives out educational programs to
universities, colleges, etc so that when the students graduate they will
also use ubs acct. i guess the same concept as m$.
anyone knows how to go about 'hosting' an open source project in any of
the local universities ?
