POSITION: Operations Specialist

TERMS: Part-time, monthly contract

WORKING HOURS: minimum 4-hour commitment per day, 7 days a week, inc.
weekends & public holidays

ABOUT THE POSITION:
The specialist will lead the content moderation & first-level customer
support services for an Internet-based application, with a large user base.
He/she may have to work on his own without any direct supervision, hence the
ability to make quick judgements is essential. You will report directly to a
project leader, via daily email communications, and will meet up at least
once a week in the helpdesk office for team briefings.

The specialist has to be able to meet expected service levels / deadlines,
and do whatever it takes to get the job done. Content moderation and support
responses will be logged via a web-based system, and the specialist is
expected to be accountable for his/her actions.

The position requires a minimum dedication of at least 4 hours of your time
per day, 7 days a week, of which you are required to have broadband Internet
access, with at least one Instant Messaging connection. The specialist is
expected to be self-motivated and able to lead as well as coordinate support
schedules with fellow team-mates. Although you may be working remotely (e.g.
from home), you have to be able to communicate with fellow team-mates who
may be online at the same time, via either IM, email or mobile phone.

The specialist will have to agree to schedules set by the project leader at
least one week in advance. He/she will be expected to be able to juggle
personal priorities and accommodate sudden changes to schedules.

REQUIREMENTS:
- Internet-savvy
- a seasoned web & email user
- familiar with instant messaging: Yahoo / MSN / Skype
- have a mobile phone; familiar with SMS, MMS & GPRS
- familiarity with camera phones would be an added advantage
- above 18 years old, formal certifications not required
- if working from home / or other remote location, must have high-speed
Internet access
- must possess your own computer, with the latest version of Firefox, a
recognised email client, YIM/MSN/Skype, Adobe Acrobat Reader
- language: must have excellent English writing & oral communication skills
- language: Bahasa Malaysia & Mandarin would be added advantages
- familiarity with Internet forums and blogging would be an added advantage
- knowledge of basic HTML, text smileys, SMS lingo would be an added
advantage
- interests in the Internet/mobile industry would be a plus point
- ability to multitask, excellent judgment, problem solving & analytical
abilities
