Guys,

Firstly, I´m very much touched and overwhelming to see such
support given by the community towards the upcoming FOSSCON.
This have reminded me to the story on how Mozilla´s project was
formed. Netscape was a product of Netscape Corp. before and was
made available to the community. Through the collaboration work,
they have produces  beautiful products such as Mozilla, Firefox
and the latest Firebird. FOSSCON on the other hand is not a
software development, but if this project is materialised, it
would be a case study of a collaboration and it demonstrate the
spirit of Open Source between a company and open source
community in Malaysia.    

Anyway, enough talking and let make it happen. As you all are
aware we have started the discussion board at AsiaOSC
http://www.asiaosc.org/enwiki/page/FOSSCON.html 
and now let design of what should be done next.

Based on our experience organizing the past FOSSCON, the most
important element is to come out with the theme of the
conference. This theme will then be the guidance of the target
audience that we want to focus, call for papers, tracks that we
want to have, and the type of speakers that we want to bring.

In theme for last FOSSON was ¨Empowering Malaysia with Open
Source¨ and the reference can be obtained more at

So let focus on the theme first, give it by end of this week and
by next week hopefully (fuhh!) we will try to comeout with more
details info regarding the project plan of FOSSCON.
