It's a great page, but it's kind of cumbersome to have discussions
there as it's a wiki and not a discussion board. There's a "Talk" page
for it, but it seems only myself and Mr. Thirumal are on it. I suggest
an irc channel on freenode where we can schedule realtime discussions.
Anyone interested? #fosscon2005 at irc.freenode.net

How about "Asia : A Centre For Open Source Development And
Excellence". Or something to that effect, if it sounds too cheesy :) I
think Asia, and especially Malaysia, can grow to become *the* place
for OSS development, and not just "usage". OSS represents an excellent
opportunity for technology transter. Currently we just *buy* our
technology from western countries, and we're dependant on them. I see
many Malaysian IT people waste time and money chasing Microsoft's
tail-lights by certifiying themselves with "Management Conned by
Something Expensive" (MCSE) certs and whatnot. We need to stop being
just users and start being technology innovators and *participants* in
the actual development process. OSS gives you that opportunity. So I'm
expecting people who have participated in or are interested in the
development process of open source.
