try in what way ? a conference will not help in creating more developers 
nor changing mindsets. a conference will however help gain more users or 
expose more people to the technology. the developer shortage needs to be 
addressed with a change of mindsets by industry itself and by individuals.

sometimes people need to understand that the joy of creating something is 
joy in itself. ask ditesh about the social gratification he got yesterday 
and you'll understand why people continue to write code and give it out 
under and open source license.
