m0n0wall uses PHP for it's bootup rc scripts, as well as the webGUI. i'm

of preg_match() and preg_replace() to replace perl's =~ regex is going to 
cost me, performance wise.

[1] doesn't help that the original author of the perl program has named all 
his variables in portugese and not english.

[2] dude, you were supposed to get back to me, re either a perl compiler or 
  a perl->PHP converter.
