Hi Alicia,

In short, for a simple application there is no difference. 

For hosting overseas, there are other more elaborate issues if it concerns security and possibility of the server/country banning visits of IP from Malaysia. The list goes on.

Advantage if its here is you can pick up a phone and call for support when you find the site down ;o)
