compiere has dual interface - thin client or fat client. imho, your 
accountant is still going to hate you.

compiere can run with oracle, fyracle or sysbase. fyracle is oracle mode 
for the firebird db. browse to http://www.janus-software.com/ to 
download the stuff to instal and run compiere on firebird.
