Lexmark does not provide printer drivers in linux.. 
But if their driver follows some printing standards.. you should be
able to configure it to print..

HP is already linux supporters.. so most probably their printers are
well supported in linux..

If you want to get a fully supported printers in Linux .. HP will be
the best choice..
But their ink is a bit pricey...
