Speaker Profile:

Professor Dr. David Hakken is an anthropologist who recently moved to 
the new School of Informatics at Indiana University to teach Social 
Informatics. A longtime advocate of field studies of information 
technology in use, his long term goal is to promote comparative 
studies of technology and culture. He is currently in Malaysia on a US 
Fulbright/MACEE grant supporting his current research, and he is anxious 
to meet and talk with FOSS developers and advocates.
