Re: [ossig] Government sector standardize on SuSE Linux?

correct me if i'm barking up the wrong tree, but are u asking for a
discussion on commercial issues here? e.g guidelines. we can come out
with our guidelines but who's going to "adhere" or even bother to hv a
look at it? secondly there are far to many other commercial issues
involved eg i know of certain applications that are certified to run
on Redhat; can we then "insist" (for the lack of a better term) that
the application developer gets it certified on other distros as well?

what if a certain customer who's familar with linux and wants his
favourite distro say... debian. guidelines as earlier suggested will
preclude distros like debian, knoppix, slack....ect.. it is difficult
to classify these distros under commercial guidelines.

as said earlier, my apologies if i'm up the wrong tree. ;-)
