Re: [ossig] Government sector standardize on SuSE Linux?

The guideline that I mean is for commercial or business use. If any
vendor want to use Open Source as a reason to do business, this vendor
must meet some requirements. This is to ensure customers receive the
products and level of services they are expecting. The guideline should
also provide a healthy competition among vendors. Isn't this ISO9001 or
similar standard exists to do this?
Hmm, may be "guideline" is such a big word to use. But I just hope all
vendors can compete fairly. If you are good in gentoo, there is nothing
to stop you from pushing it. You could build support channel around it,
training center for gentoo and so on. If guideline exists, then it
become easier for whoever like gentoo to setup their company to meet
that requirement, and then enter the competition with other vendors.

| correct me if i'm barking up the wrong tree, but are u asking for a

|
| what if a certain customer who's familar with linux and wants his

|
| as said earlier, my apologies if i'm up the wrong tree. ;-)
