price should *NOT* the primary issue for any OSS strategy; TCO is.
FWIW M$ is sticking to that price for the next 3 years.  despite that
there are on-going OSS projects.

it all depends on the customer.  some would like to "buy"  the
application and your stand would not be relevent to them; others
prefer to develop themselves.  however there seems to be a trend
towards the former among the larger corporates in malaysia; from my
perspective anyhow....

hmmm .... is it possible for the majority of the SMI category of OSS
vendors to have a lack exposure in understanding the structure, needs
and strategies of large corporates in malaysia??

to be frank i am of the opinion that the OSS Commercial Community does
not have a collaborative strategy and this is where we are screwing
ourselves up.  perhaps we ought to discuss this at the next
face-2-face meet..... just a thot... might even include developing
marketing blurb for the OSSCC......  whatever...
