My staff is helping a customer to install Microsoft Office 2003 OEM
Pack. Here is what happend:
- --- Start of Conversation
"The PC that activated this copy of MS Office was lightning striked and
no longer repairable. So, I installed this MS Office on the other PC. I
need to do the activation"
"Sorry, according to Micro$ux OEM EULA, the license is no transferable
to any other PC in any means"
"Do you mean that even if my PC spoiled or no longer in working
condition, I still cannot use this copy of license?"
"Yes. If you need this feature, you will need to purchase the full version."
"This is radiculus and unthinkable. I paid for the software and now you
said that because of the damage of my PC I will have to pay for another
copy of license?"
"Yes. Indeed."
I nearly shout in the phone "WHAT THE FXXX". <- I didn't do this, in
front of customer, of course.
"But never mind, we will give you ANOTHER CHANCE to activate it. But
this is final time you can re-activate your software. Next time please
do it carefully."
