Very insightful. I hope this is a clear message to CS schools
nationwide that there needs to give some broad opportunities for
students to take a variety of subjects so they will be at least
somewhat familiar with some of the areas of knowledge which they may
be called on to write information systems for. Also, not every
information system is a business information system!
There is too much emphasis on *business* information systems that CS
and IT students are practically forced to take stuff like management
and business, which may not be relevant at all to the work he or she
will eventually do (I know my school tried to do so, and I hated it).
So, if any syllabus policy-makers are listening, go easy on the
business focus and give some room for students to learn equally
important things like science.
