haven't found one specifically for BSD yet, but they've given royalty free 
patent rights to all patents they hold for W3C standards and together with 
HP, lobbied that all W3C standards be either based on non-patented stuff, 
or on stuff for which the patent holder has granted worldwide, 
non-discriminatory royalty free patent rights.

btw, to the relevant patent holders, this afternoon i violated US patent 
5443036 with my dog. see
