Hi everyone,
for the past week I could not connect to streamyx service via my linux
gateway/firewall.
I called TMNet and managed to get a technician to see what the problem
was. But (un)fortunately he has to use WinXP to connect. Good thing
that he brought his own laptop -- for my home is almost devoid of
microsoft stuff.
He managaged to strightened things out, and we could get the
connection --- but only using WinXP. When I tried to dial via the
firewall (Smoothwall Express 2.0) it give bad password encryption
error. I am very sure the same setting has worked for the past 1+
yr.
Then just to check again, I borrowed a friends PC running WinXP to
test. It connected without any hassle at all. Now I have my cousin's
PC also running linux desktop which connects to streamyx in his house
but not in mine!
I am totally perplexed at the moment. Don't know what to do. TMNet
made it clear that they don't support LInux.
So I am presenting my case to all of you with a hope of someone here
may have a similar experience that you may have encountered and
resolved.
Thanks.
regards,
Venantius
